  • Drive profitability in all aspects of salon and spa operations while remaining brand appropriate and relatable;
  • Create a welcoming, learning and nurturing environment for all GJ employees and customers to promote sales and service success;

  • Build strong sales and customer service relationships with clients through inspiring and motivating the team into action.
  • Set the tone, pace, and consistently role model key sales and service behaviors with every team member creating an optimal guest service and purchase experience;
  • Ensure consistent execution of Gene Juarez Salons and Spa's policies and procedures;
  • Administer applicable safety programs for the store, employees, and clients; Embrace brand direction by continually educating employees on product knowledge within the salon and spa team;
  • Teach and live brand execution, both visual and experiential by role modeling a commitment to the "GJ Way";
  • Ensure merchandising and visual standards are organized, clean and presentable, maintaining brand philosophy and direction;
  • Ensure employee appearance appropriately reflects the Gene Juarez brand image;
  • Have a strong commitment to artistic excellence, wellness and caring for community;
  • Minimize employee turnover rates by taking time to effectively on-board new employees, set clear performance expectations, train, coach, and develop staff;
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve productivity;
  • Develop employees in their career path;
  • Own and be responsible for inventory control;
  • Facilitate implementation of company learning/training programs, follow-up and monitor performance to ensure transfer of learned skills on-the-job.


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proven track record of increasing experience and responsibility;
  • An ability to adapt to changing work environment/responsibilities;
  • Effective interpersonal and team skills;
  • An Associates degree (A.A.) or related work experience;
  • A Minimum of five years of retail management experience in a fast paced setting;
  • Proficient PC skills including spreadsheet and word processing skills;
  • Beauty industry experience a plus;
  • Management team and supervision experience.

More about Gene Juarez:

The first Gene Juarez Salon was opened in downtown Seattle in 1971. As Seattle's first contemporary fashion salon, the company introduced Seattle customers to best in class service, artistry and innovative European haircutting techniques. A few years later, in 1974, the second Gene Juarez Salon location opened inside the original downtown Seattle Nordstrom on Fifth Avenue, offering a connection to fashion and world-class service to our clients.

Since then, through our commitment and dedication to our clients, artistry and innovative education, Gene Juarez Salons & Spas has grown to 10 salon & spa locations and two cosmetology schools. Since day one, Gene Juarez Salons & Spas has been locally owned and operated in the Pacific Northwest.
